Dr. Murray Heber has returned from the 2008 Summer Olympics as part of the medical staff for the Canadian Greco-Roman wrestling team. Murray had been working with Mr. Ari Taub, the Calgary-based
120kg Greco-Roman wrestler, who qualified for the Games after winning the Canadian Championships and wrestling at the Panamerican Games. In addition to China, Murray had travelled to Italy, Germany,
Prague, and Colorado Springs last summer in order to keep this wrestler in peak physical condition on his road to Beijing.
Murray was very excited to be heading to the Games, it has been a life-long dream of his to be present at an Olympic Games, first as an athlete and now as a therapist. While there, he witnessed
several athletic feats and triumphs. He was present at the Men's 100m Final, where a new World Record was set by Usain Bolt, and he also witnessed a world record set by swimmer Michael Phelps.
Murray got to take part in the Opening Ceremonies, and he walked into the stadium along with the entire Canadian Team. Murray was impressed by the hospitality of all the Games staff, and enjoyed a
memorable and rewarding Olympic experience.
Welcome back Murray, and well done Ari!
Murray's next Olympic experience will take place in Whistler BC in 2010!
